Our Kilwins Area History
Fells Point was founded in 1730 by William Fell, a Quaker carpenter from Lancashire England. The neighborhood's main claim to fame was its multitude of shipyards dedicated to the production of ships known as Baltimore Clippers. Many of Fells Point's clipper ships were manned by privateers authorized by the U.S. Government to loot British ships during the War of 1812.
Today, historic Fells Point has evolved into a diverse residential and commercial area that celebrates this amazing heritage. Baltimore's newest Kilwins will be conveniently located by the water in the heart of the area on 1625 Thames Street along with unique shops, fantastic restaurants, top-rated hotels, exciting festivals, and cultural activities galore!
